Program Description:

Students enrolled in the Master of Public Administration program have the opportunity to gain an overview of executive, legislative, and judicial powers as well as an understanding of the foundation and development of public administration roles. The curriculum is designed to introduce topics related to fiscal governance, including income and debt management, financial reporting, budget planning, and taxation. Participants also have a chance to learn about human resources administration for government and nonprofit organzations, examining concepts such as grievance procedures, labor union dealings, recruiting practices, workplace diversity and affirmative action, employee training, and benefits management. Other covered topics include administrative laws and regulations, managerial theories, and dispute resolution practices. In addition, students have the opportunity to complete a major project in which they research and defend an original argument.
